The Department of Education is recruiting graduate and experienced psychologists, social workers, guidance officers and youth workers in schools and education regions across Queensland. Babak was working as a psychologist in corrective services before deciding to work in a school setting. Now working as the school-based psychologist at Bundamba State Secondary College, Babak told us why he finds the role so rewarding. ‘My own schooling experience was quite a challenging one – I personally went through a lot of mental health challenges, and I think if I had that school-based mental health support, my experience would have been a lot easier,’ he said. ‘That’s part of the reason I am here – to really use what I've learned from my own experiences and try to make a positive change for the students currently in school. ‘Providing mental health support services within the school setting is really fulfilling, and knowing you're making a difference to students’ lives is something really, really positive.’ Apply now through Smart Jobs to be considered for current and future roles. https://lnkd.in/gz5g__5T
