Construction of the Central Playing Fields at The Gables in Sydney has officially wrapped, with the opening taking place over the weekend. The new space, delivered for Stockland, includes an internationally certified hockey field, multipurpose courts for basketball, netball and tennis, a skate park, a playground, an amenities building and a fitness zone. And let's not forget our pooches, who now have their very own play space as well. This project has been an incredible one to deliver, and we would like to say a huge thank you to Stockland for the opportunity. The many happy faces of community members at the opening this past weekend is testament to what a great facility this is and the opportunities it will provide for our future sporting stars. The Gables are almost game-ready!🏑 Our Civil Engineer, Alex, and Graduate Civil Engineers Josie and Louisz, recently visited The Gables Hockey Precinct for a defects inspection—one of the final steps before the grand opening in mid-March! 🔍 So, what’s a defects inspection? In sports engineering, it's a quality check where we assess the newly built facility for any minor issues that need fixing before it's officially handed over. This ensures that everything meets the highest standards for performance and safety. SPORTENG was proud to deliver the detailed design and technical specifications for this project, contracted by Smart Connection Consultancy Pty Ltd, including: 👉 1 dry synthetic hockey pitch 👉 1 wet synthetic hockey pitch 👉 1 warm-up pitch 👉 4 multi-use acrylic courts. With the sun shining and the fields looking fantastic, we can’t wait to see The Gables Hockey Fields in action soon!
