Last night's Federal Budget announcement detailing the Albanese Labor Government's investment in quality aged care is a pivotal development for organisations like Altura Learning. We know this Budget will invest $2.2 billion to: ✔ Strengthen the fundamental structures and connections that support high-quality aged care ✔ Decrease waiting periods for older people in search of Home Care Packages ✔ Support and fortify the workforce within the aged care sector ✔ Deliver an enhanced quality and safety regulator ✔ Enhance technology systems and digital infrastructure throughout the aged care sector. Delirium, often manifested as an acute, fluctuating disturbance of consciousness and cognition, is a complex clinical syndrome that poses significant challenges across healthcare settings. By completing this course, learners will be able to: - Understand the definitions and legislation associated with risk of delirium - Align the Strengthened Standards with high prevalence risk of delirium - Understand delirium and ageing - Identify the risks of delirium in the aged care setting and community This course has been developed in a simplified e-learning format, featuring a full assessment to illustrate compliance. Understanding the trauma that older people have experienced and enabling the provision of trauma informed care is critical for wellbeing. By completing this course, learners will be able to: - Align trauma informed care with the Aged Care Quality Standards. - Identify older people at higher risk of traumatic life experiences. - Discuss the physiological effects of trauma. - Outline trauma informed care principles and how to incorporate trauma informed care into services for older adults. - Describe the responsibilities of registered nurses for trauma informed care.
