Inspiring future physiotherapists and occupational therapists👌 Our sell-out graduate information session at the Malvern East clinic was a hit last night! Final year students networked with our partners Casey Blay, Jon Cooper and Felicity Zheng while learning the ins and outs of upper limb injury management and the rewarding career paths available. It was great to see so many motivated physiotherapy and occupational therapy students asking questions about the industry and how to kickstart their careers. They also heard from past program graduates who shared valuable insights and experiences from our shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand program. Interested to know more? Our patients don’t need plaster any more! At Action Rehab Hand Therapy Northside Hand & Upper Limb Clinic The Hands Physio we can fabricate a thermoplastic “cast” that provides great support, can get wet, is light weight and easy to wear. Plaster casts were good in the 1940’s but now let’s give our patients a thermoplastic “cast”.
Knowing which cast or splint is right for your patient Plaster of Paris (POP) casts and thermoplastic splints are both effective treatments, but the ultimate decision of which to use comes down to your patient's needs and lifestyle. With both offering distinct differences in cost, durability and comfort, assessing the impact the cast or splint may have on a patient's recovery is vital. Will the cast prolong the patient's return to work or prevent them from doing the things they love? Learn more about how the different cast or splint options can help your patient recover from their hand, wrist, finger or elbow injury here: https://buff.ly/4axxo8O #ActionRehab #OccupationalTherapy #SportsInjury #InjuryRecovery #HandTherapy

Meet Occupational Therapist and Richmond fan Jonathan Stakos. Once touted as a future tennis star at age 9 in Melbourne Weekly magazine, his true calling unfolded during his final clinical placement at university. Intrigued by the intricacies of the upper limb, he discovered a newfound interest in hand therapy after witnessing its profound ability to restore function to those suffering from an injury. Based at the Epping, Heidelberg Martin St and Heidelberg Mount St clinics, Jonathan enjoys supporting patients with their upper limb injuries by developing tailored rehabilitation programs so they can return to the things they love. Last week Kara Pocervina presented to students at La Trobe University and did a great job. We are always trying to g to help the next generation of hand therapists improve their skills and at Action Rehab Hand Therapy we have a broad range of experienced therapists who can help you become a great hand therapist.
Last week, I had the wonderful opportunity to lecture at La Trobe University, sharing insights and experiences from the specialised field of Hand Therapy with the next generation of Occupational Therapy students. It was a privilege to engage with such enthusiastic learners, eager to make a difference in people’s lives. At Action Rehab Hand Therapy we're committed to not only providing the best care possible, but also fostering education and growth in our field. I’m grateful for the chance to contribute and look forward to seeing these future therapists thrive. Special mention to Hamish Anderson who made it all happen! #OccupationalTherapy #HandTherapy #Education #LaTrobeUniversity #ActionRehab
