PCYC Celebrates National Volunteer Week with Brian Flint Brian's journey with PCYC Armidale spans an impressive seven decades, beginning in 1954 at the young age of 7. Accompanied by his father, who was involved with the club since its inception in 1952, Brian's earliest memories are filled with fun-filled trips, camping adventures, and engaging activities with friends. Even at such a young age, he eagerly lent a hand at the club, setting the stage for a lifelong commitment to community service. At 18, he took on a more formal volunteering role, assuming the position of Vice President of the Committee. Over the years, Brian has been instrumental in spearheading various initiatives, with one of his most notable contributions being the development of the Weightlifting program at the club. With a passion for Olympic Weightlifting, Brian has not only coached and competed in the sport but has also witnessed firsthand the transformative impact it has had on the Armidale community. For Brian, the measure of his success as a volunteer isn't defined by a single achievement but rather by the number of years he has dedicated to serving PCYC Armidale. 70 years of unwavering commitment, community spirit, and meaningful connections with countless individuals have left a permanent mark on Brian's life and the legacy he leaves behind at the club. Happy #volunteerweek! #pcycnsw #lifechangingforall #youthcharity #makingadifference #YouthEmpowerment

PCYC Celebrates National Volunteer Week with Margaret Margaret has been a valued volunteer of PCYC Kempsey and other organisations in the Kempsey Shire Council for over 20 years! In 2007 she was awarded Kempsey Citizen of the Year, in 2019 Margaret received the Order of Australia Medal and in 2024 received a Lifetime Achievement Award for her tireless commitment to her community. Margaret spends around 30 hours weekly in various roles at the club, from administration to cleaning to reception and even organising school holiday activities! Her biggest motivator is knowing that the only way to make a difference in the community is to do something to positively to impact change. In her many years volunteering with PCYC Kempsey, Margaret has seen first-hand the transformation in some of the troubled youth that have visited the club; those young people now have good jobs and contribute positively to the community. PCYC is life changing indeed; youth focused but for the community. Thank you, Margaret, for your continued efforts at PCYC Kempsey! We might be biased, but we think PCYC has some of the best volunteers out there Happy #volunteerweek! #pcycnsw #lifechangingforall #youthcharity #makingadifference #YouthEmpowerment

Exciting news! PCYC NSW announced a three-year partnership with Ultimate Fighting Championship to establish UFC’s first youth mentoring initiative in Australia. UFC and PCYC NSW will jointly host a curated series of coaching and MMA sessions for youth, led by high profile UFC athletes at selected PCYC clubs across the state. This will see young people engaged, empowered and getting active. The charitable partnership will see UFC make a yearly donation to PCYC’s youth programs, which empower young people to reach their full potential through Police and community partnerships. The UFC will collaborate with PCYC on fundraising opportunities, as well as content creation and amplification. PCYC Celebrates National Volunteer Week with Bowie Bowie’s journey with PCYC began as a simple desire to bond with his son, who he brought along to train at PCYC Muswellbrook. Little did he know that this decision would ignite a passion for giving back to his community that would endure for decades. Choosing PCYC as his volunteering platform was an easy decision for Bowie. He was drawn to PCYC’s mission of community support and its direct impact on local youth. For Bowie, it's not just about volunteering; it's about actively contributing to a cause that directly benefits the kids and families in his neighbourhood, by reinvesting all proceeds back into the community. This grassroots approach resonates deeply, reinforcing his belief in the power of collective action and community-driven initiatives. But why does Bowie continue to volunteer year after year? It's a combination of factors, from his genuine desire to give back to the community that has given him so much, to the personal fulfilment he derives from sharing his passion for boxing, fitness, and training with others.  Looking back on his journey, Bowie recalls how his involvement at PCYC evolved from simply training alongside a friend to becoming an integral part of the club's efforts to empower youth and foster community engagement.  So, here's to Bowie and all the selfless volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to building stronger, more vibrant communities, with PCYC’s across the state.  Happy #volunteerweek! #pcycnsw #lifechangingforall #youthcharity #makingadifference #YouthEmpowerment

PCYC Singleton with our new branding 😍 This is only a sneak peek of what’s to come! 👀

    CEO, PCYC NSW

One of the standout PCYC NSW Clubs in the State is Singleton. Until we announce the 2023 award winners in June, PCYC Singleton remain the reigning champs as the 2022 Club of the Year winners (take a look 👉 https://lnkd.in/gmXXRknu). On top of this, Dave Andrews and the team has just taken out new honours with a record 97% result in their recent Club audit. 85% is the high standard that all Clubs aspire to maintain, our Singleton crew consistently score in the 90%'s and don't look like slowing down. You might be wondering what a Regional PCYC Club with these kinds of accolades looks like. Well, with the help of local artist, Jordan Lucky, a NSW Resources for Regions grant and a steady supply of high quality paint donated by DuluxGroup, Singleton recently completed a face lift the even dons the new logo. Looks amazing! Thank you to so many tremendous supporters of the Singleton community - Dan Repacholi, David Layzell, Mayor Sue Moore, Missie Massey, NSW Police Force, our Life Governor's and Club President Brian Ellis. #pcycnsw #lifechanging #youthcharity
