About us
The Leadership Effect is a business and leadership coaching consultancy built by founder Amy Gray that uses a proprietary coaching framework to enable emerging and established leaders to cultivate clarity and confidence as they make continual progress towards their personal and professional goals. Developed based on Gray’s 20+ years of experience in senior business, leadership and marketing roles, The Leadership Effect’s approach delivers focused growth. Whether that is through its coaching programs personalised to each leader’s particular challenges and driven by insight, clarity, and understanding. Or through the leadership programs and courses they deliver for leaders. The Leadership Effect believes that the impact each of us has on others is often more far-reaching than we realise, and that - as a result - our actions and the way we interact with others must be a conscious choice. The world needs more purposeful, aware people. The Leadership Effect exists to consciously develop them.

Embracing the delicate balance of giving constructive criticism – it can be the rain that nurtures growth without washing away the foundation. As a leader or manager you have the ability to foster an environment where feedback is given with care, allowing people to flourish both professionally and personally. 🌱 #FeedbackCulture #GrowthMindset #Leadership #FrankAClarkQuote

Did you know? Companies that implement regular employee feedback have turnover rates that are 14.9% lower than for employees who receive no feedback (Gallup). This statistic underscores the critical role that feedback plays in employee retention and satisfaction. When you are deliberate in your approach, you can turn feedback into a retention tool. What strategies has your organisation found effective in creating a cadence of feedback? #EmployeeRetention #FeedbackIsKey #OrganisationalSuccess

Giving critical feedback can be challenging for several reasons: Fear of Negative Reaction: There may be apprehension about how the recipient will respond to critical feedback, whether it might be with defensiveness, anger, or even hurt feelings. To overcome this, it’s important to deliver feedback in a constructive manner, focusing on the behaviour rather than the individual, and ensuring there is a clear pathway for improvement. Preserving Relationships: Managers often worry about damaging their working relationships. To mitigate this, they should strive to create a culture of trust where feedback is seen as a part of growth and development, rather than criticism. Concerns About Demotivation: Feedback might demotivate employees if not handled correctly. Managers can overcome this by balancing critical feedback with recognition of what the employee does well, and by showing confidence in the employee's ability to improve. Lack of Training: Not every leader is trained in giving effective feedback, which can lead to avoidance. Investing in communication training can be very beneficial, teaching managers how to give feedback that is specific, timely, and relevant. Fear of Conflict: Some leaders may avoid giving feedback for fear it will lead to conflict. However, by setting up feedback as a regular, expected part of the workflow, it becomes less personal and more about the work itself. Inadequate Follow-up: There might be a concern that once feedback is given, they might not follow through with the necessary support and resources to help the employee improve. To counter this, managers should set up check-ins and offer guidance to show commitment to the employee's development. It's vital for leaders and managers to be skilled in giving critical feedback as it's an essential component for individual growth and organisational development. Creating a supportive atmosphere where feedback is part of a constructive process can help in overcoming these challenges. Here's my guide on how you (or the leaders in your organisation) can improve how they give critical feedback to provide growth in the employee receiving it - https://lnkd.in/dTgS3vH6 #FeedbackStrategies #ConstructiveFeedback #LeadershipDevelopment
