Your role will involve working closely with participants to support their needs and facilitate their independence. Key Responsibilities: • Participant Support: Provide personalized care and support to NDIS participants, including assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and household tasks. • Goal Achievement: Collaborate with participants to identify their goals and create individualized support plans to help them achieve those goals. • Community Engagement: Encourage and support participants to engage in social and community activities, including work, education, and leisure pursuits. • Transport Assistance: Assist participants with transportation needs to attend appointments, community activities, and other events as required. • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant progress, activities, and incidents as required by NDIS guidelines and company policies. • Communication: Communicate effectively with participants, their families, and other stakeholders, such as therapists and healthcare providers, to ensure a cohesive support plan. • Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety protocols, ensuring the well-being of participants and yourself. • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and development to stay informed about best practices and new approaches in disability support.

Australia Disability Services is seeking a talented Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist to join our dynamic team in Melbourne, Australia. About Us: Australia Disability Services is a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services, committed to improving the quality of life for our clients. Our team of experienced professionals works collaboratively to deliver exceptional care and support. Key Responsibilities: - For Occupational Therapist: - Evaluate and assess clients' functional needs. - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. - Educate clients and their families on therapeutic techniques and exercises. - Provide clinical knowledge and expertise to our NDIS participants - Provide assessments of clients’ cognitive and learning abilities, living skills, emotional, mental health status and behavioural profile. - Develop and monitor intervention plans and strategies for people living with complex mental health issues - Provide input and support in relation to transition of clients to National Disability Insurance Scheme. Including assisting with planning and development of skills to build individual capacity. - Communicate the company’s NDIS policies and processes to all employees and is also responsible for communicating risks and responsibilities for NDIS system. - Take reasonable care for your own health and safety Report any incident or hazards to the relevant Manager or Supervisor. - Keep informed of the contents of the NDIS system and apply it to daily work. - Ensure you are not affected by alcohol or drugs, to endanger your own or any other persons’ health and safety For Speech Therapist: - Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders. - Create tailored treatment plans to meet clients' specific needs. - Provide therapy to improve speech, language, and swallowing skills. - Work closely with clients' families and other healthcare providers. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients and their families. - Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology related to speech and swallowing. - Proficiency in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Qualifications: - Degree in Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology. - Current registration with the relevant professional body. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. - Current AHPRA Registration - Current Criminal Record Check - Working with Children Check. - First Aid certificate and CPR.
