An update on Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMAs). The Northern Territory has a new DAMA, with an expanded list of occupations, more nomination places and streamlined applications processes for NT employers. If you are a business with an existing labour agreement under DAMA II and wish to access new occupations and concessions under DAMA III, you will need to lodge a new endorsement application for DAMA III. If you are a business with an existing labour agreement under DAMA II, you can continue to lodge nomination applications under the approved ceilings. The online application portal for DAMA III is anticipated to open for new endorsement applications by 31 March 2025. An update on Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMAs). The Orana DAMA has been extended for another 12 months by the Federal Government. This region comprises 50 committees in NSW, who support the development of their region. This includes Orana, Central West, Southern Inland, Murray and Riverina RDA regions. The Orana DAMA is an employer-sponsored visa program that enables local employers to secure overseas workers who are highly skilled and in demand in specified industries. An update on Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMAs). The Minister for the Department of Home Affairs has signed a Deed of Variation for the Far North Queensland (FNQ) DAMA. It includes a two year extension of the head agreements until 3 April 2027 with: ✅51 new occupations ✅Application of English concessions to some new and selected existing occupations ✅Application of 10% concessions to income thresholds of many new and selected existing occupations (TSMIT/CSIT – learn more in the link provided) ✅An increase in the number of positions available per year to meet the growth in demand. The TSMIT is set to increase. On 1 July 2025, annual indexation of the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) will mean that the skilled visa income thresholds will be increased by 4.6%. This results in a TSMIT increase from $73,150 to $76,515. The TSMIT is used for the following visas: 1.    Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional visa (subclass 494) 2.    Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) (subclass 187). This change will apply to applications lodged from 1 July 2025. It will not apply to existing visa holders and nominations lodged before this time. It is a small, exclusive program with an increased focus on high-calibre talented migrants. The NIV is aimed at established and emerging leaders to ensure Australia attracts migrants from across the world who will help create jobs and drive investment in key sectors of the Australian economy. Visa invitations will be sent out in priority order - priority one to four.
