Credentials

Daniel Tyrrell Landscapes was established as a company in 2003 and we’ve since forged a reputation as leaders in the design and construction of gardens throughout Melbourne.

In 2010, I was a part of the Flemings Gold Medal team at the Chelsea Flower Show in the UK, and many of my completed projects have been featured in magazines and articles.

Four years later I decided to concentrate on my love for garden and landscape design in Melbourne by dedicating my ideas and work purely to the design aspect of landscaping.

Over the years, I’ve has been a regular contributor to the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show. My most recent exhibit ‘Right of Way’ in 2016 won me a Silver Medal.

Work Ethic

I’ve always followed an ethic of sustainability. Through my work, I’ve sought to design long-lasting and healthy gardens that also work to reduce our carbon footprint into the future.

As a passionate advocate and supporter of community gardening, I’ve partnered with a not for profit initiative Med O Seeds and a regular contributor to community green spaces projects.

With my years of experience and expertise in landscape design, I’m committed to ensuring your project runs smoothly from start to finish.

That will result in a garden that will both surprise and delight you!

What We Do

My work starts with an on-site meeting to review your property. Each project is unique, and there is a big difference between a bed-and-shrub layout and a mixed perennial garden.

During the meeting, we’ll discuss your goals for the garden and then do some general brainstorming to see what we can come up with.

We use a site evaluation form to document the goals you’ve described and the ideas we’ve generated, as well as to identify any potential issues that could crop up down the line.

You’ll get a copy of that site evaluation form for your records, along with a summary of the solutions my team and I recommend to meet your requirements.

If we’ve identified any issues specific to your site, then we’ll also include our observations along with advice for how to tackle them.

Our Process

First, we put together a base plan of what the garden will look like. We’ll go over this together so you can explain what you’d like to keep, what needs, to be improved, and what needs to go.

Then, we create a draft design that puts all the pieces of the puzzle together. We’ll also go over that together, so you can give us feedback on anything you’d like changed.

Lastly, we’ll incorporate your feedback to create the final design for your garden or landscape. We will also mock up some reference images so you can properly visualise the final result.

But gardens live, breathe, and change — just like we do.

Therefore, it may be necessary for us to visit and review your site at regular intervals. Most of our clients ask us to come by every season to see if anything needs to be fixed.

You will, of course, also get an updated site evaluation form after each of these visits.
