Clean Energy For Tasmania
The Granville Harbour Wind Farm hosts 31 Vestas V126-3.6MW Wind Turbines which were successfully installed by Cosmic Wind over a 10-month period in the picturesque West Coast of Tasmania. These turbines stand at almost 200 metres high making these the tallest wind turbines in Tasmania!
Successful completion of the project has resulted in production of up to 112 megawatts of clean, renewable energy which is enough electricity to power roughly 46,000 homes in the West Coast which contributes greatly to Tasmania’s plan to be 100% reliant on renewable energy by 2022.
The development of the farm has been described as a long and challenging process with months of relentless rainfall which resulted in the highest rainfall recorded in Tasmania in over 20 years and crews were also faced with the additional hurdles that came with COVID-19. Cosmic crews on Granville Harbour worked tirelessly in these trying conditions and because of hard work and determination exceptional results were achieved.
