The Process
Formal Quote
Before commencing the design process, we provide you with a formal quote tailored to your specific project. This step ensures transparency and clarity about the costs involved. Key details in the quote include:

- An outline of the fees for each stage of the project.
- Any additional costs for third-party consultants or specialised services, if required.

Initial Consultation
The process begins with an initial consultation where we take the time to understand your vision, goals, and requirements for your project. During this stage, we:

- Assess the site conditions, such as orientation, accessibility, and potential challenges.
- Review your budget to ensure realistic expectations and feasibility.

Concept Design Stage

Planning Approval Stage (If Required)

- Addressing any feedback or requested changes from the council.

Working Drawing Stage
Once the concept design is approved, we create detailed working drawings that are essential for construction. These include:
- Comprehensive floor plans, elevations, details and sections.
- Detailed construction notes and specifications.
- Electrical and plumbing layouts, if applicable.
- These drawings provide the technical information required for construction and ensure accuracy in the building process.
3rd Party Plans & Documents
Almost all projects require additional input from third-party consultants. We coordinate with:
- Structural engineers for detailed structural designs.
- Energy assessors to ensure compliance with energy efficiency standards.
- Surveyors for site plans and boundary details.
- Other specialists, such as bushfire consultants or heritage advisors, if necessary.
- We manage this coordination to ensure all required documents are prepared efficiently and accurately.
Certificate of Design Compliance (CDC)
Before applying for a building permit, it is wise to have your design professionaly certified as compliant with the National Construction Codes (NCC) and other regulations. This involves:
- Engaging a registered building surveyor to review and certify the design.
- Providing all required documentation for assessment.
- Addressing any feedback to achieve certification.
- The CDC is a critical step to ensure your project meets all legal and safety requirements.
Building Permit Application
The final step before construction begins is obtaining a building permit. During this stage, we:
Submit the certified design and all required documentation to the local council or building authority.
- Follow up with the relevant authority to monitor the progress of your application.
- Address any additional requirements or conditions imposed by the authority.
- Obtain the building permit, which allows construction to commence.
- With the permit in hand, your project is ready to move to the construction phase.
