The seedlings of tobacco plant are grown under shade until they achieve a certain age and then they are carefully transferred to the fields. Soon the tiny plants grow up into big ones with strong stems and widened leaves. Once the plant attains a certain size and the leaves receive ample sunlight, the process of plucking starts. The plucking is followed by rapid transfer to the processing centres and classification of blades. The storage and fermentation are the next steps. The fermented blades are then supplied to their respective cigar manufacturers where they are transformed into fillers, wrappers and binders.
