Dan Kitchens Australia

Dan Kitchens is a Sydney-based specialist in bespoke kitchens and custom residential joinery, established in 1984. For more than 40 years, we have designed, manufactured and installed individually made kitchens and cabinetry for substantial renovations, architect-designed homes and whole-home joinery projects across Sydney.

A kitchen is one of the most used spaces in a home, and often one of the most significant investments made during a renovation. We believe it should do more than look impressive when it is first completed. It should feel intuitive to use, suit the way the household lives and continue to work beautifully many years later.

Our approach reflects our Danish design heritage, with an emphasis on simplicity, proportion, function and longevity. Every project is developed individually, giving our designers the freedom to explore layout, materials, storage, detailing and finishes without being constrained by a standard modular range. The aim is to create cabinetry that feels cohesive and refined, while remaining practical in everyday use.

Custom Kitchen Design

Our experienced in-house designers work closely with clients throughout the design process. Beyond selecting colours and finishes, they consider how the kitchen will actually be used: how people move through it, where appliances and storage are best located, how preparation and entertaining overlap, and how the many small decisions come together as a whole.

This depth of design becomes especially valuable in substantial renovations, where there are often competing priorities, structural constraints and opportunities that are not immediately obvious. A good designer can simplify those decisions, identify better solutions and help ensure the finished kitchen feels resolved rather than simply fitted into the available space.

Residential Joinery

We also design and manufacture custom joinery for laundries, pantries, wardrobes, studies, entertainment areas, bars, bathrooms, storage and other living spaces.

For clients undertaking a broader renovation, this allows materials, proportions and detailing to flow naturally through different parts of the home without making every room feel the same.

Designed and Made In-House

Design, manufacturing, painting and installation are all carried out by our own team. This gives us close control over quality and allows our designers, production team and installers to work closely together throughout the project, resolving details and practical issues directly as the work progresses.

Our cabinetry is manufactured in Sydney, and our installers are accustomed to working in detailed residential environments where accuracy, coordination and respect for the home matter.

Built for the Long Term

The relationship with a client does not necessarily end when the installation is complete. We provide long-term after-sales service and can often assist clients many years after their original kitchen was installed.

That long-term perspective influences how we design and make our work in the first place. We favour sound construction, durable materials, thoughtful detailing and design decisions that can age well rather than relying heavily on short-lived trends.

Sydney Service Areas

We work across Sydney, including the Eastern Suburbs, Lower and Upper North Shore, Northern Beaches, Inner West, Hills District and surrounding areas, as well as selected projects elsewhere across Greater Sydney.

People choose Dan Kitchens for the combination of experienced design advice, genuine customisation, in-house manufacture and installation, careful project coordination and the confidence of working with an established Sydney company that continues to support its work long after installation.
