We are located 20 minutes north of Byron Bay, 30 mins south of Coolangatta and 1 hour and 45 mins south of Brisbane and we service clients from all these areas as well as interstate and international visitors.
Unlike the mainstream method of dreadlock creation we create instant permanent dreads that are 100% natural. There are NO chemicals, products, or wax used at all. We use a method derived from the traditional Thai hook method, which we call “Divine Hand & Hook”. This is the best way to make dreadlocks! Each and every hair is tightly interwoven and locked together.
All other methods require waxing & rolling the dread to make sure it locks. This process can take 6 – 12 months of work by you after you’ve paid big money at the salon! With our dreadlock creation there is no rolling & your dreads are formed perfectly in one sitting.
Ema (owner, teacher & primary Locktician) has been dreadlocking around the world and in Byron Shire since the year 2000. There is not a dreadlock issue she can’t handle!
All other Lockticians who work with Divine Dreadlocks are fully professionally trained by Ema and provide top quality service with a smile.

A full head of new dreads starts at $300-600 (depending on length & thickness of hair)
Maintenance & repairs are from $60-300 depending on how much work is needed and how many dreads there are.
Extensions are approximately $800-1200 all inclusive (this includes locking your hair, cost of real human hair extensions, locking the extensions off your head and joining them).
Our rates are about half the price of most dread salons! Are quality is double J
