She completed her medical studies at the University of Adelaide and her neurosurgical training in Adelaide and Melbourne.
She subsequently completed specialist post-graduate fellowships in epilepsy surgery at the Austin Hospital followed by 2 postgraduate fellowships at the University of Toronto: A Neurovascular Fellowship at the Toronto Western Hospital and a Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Kids.
