About Periphery Psychotherapy
Established August 2025
Therapy for adults with complex inner worlds, in Melbourne and online
Periphery Psychotherapy is a counselling practice for adults whose experiences do not fit neatly into a box. It was created by Kajol Shrivastava, a psychotherapist and registered counsellor in Australia, who believes no two people are alike and that no difficulty is too big or too small to be taken seriously. Each person’s strengths and goals shape the conversation.
What the practice supports
Trauma, including complex PTSD, can leave people stuck in survival mode, and therapy offers room to process it safely. ADHD counselling helps adults make sense of emotional overwhelm and self-criticism. Stress and burnout work looks beneath the exhaustion at what is driving it, while relationship therapy explores boundaries, people pleasing and dynamics that repeat.
How sessions work
Kajol holds a Master of Counselling from Monash University and works in an integrative way, shaping sessions around the person instead of a fixed formula. Some people want practical structure, while others want deeper exploration, and psychoeducation helps clients understand their own emotional responses and patterns. Appointments run in person in Melbourne or by telehealth anywhere in Australia. Bookings are direct, with no referral required. Contact Kajol directly to enquire about sessions.
Periphery Psychotherapy aims to be a steady, respectful space where people can build self-understanding and self-trust, one conversation at a time.
