12/27/2012 It’s that time of year again – time to sit down and examine your
company’s performance over the last year in terms of meeting goals. If
there are areas where your performance metrics are lacking, then this is
the perfect time to think about what you can do differently next year.
And that plan should include online marketing.
You probably already have a marketing plan in place, but it’s a
document that needs to be revised on a regular basis; it’s not static.
As you look at how your business performed in 2012, think about how new
forms of SEO and online marketing might help achieve better results in
the upcoming year, then resolve to make the changes necessary to turn
things around.
Here’s a few of the resolutions that most businesses need to add to their marketing plan for 2013:
1. Set aside a regular time each month to examine your website’s statistics.
How do you know if your website is truly optimised? How do you know if
visitors are finding what they need on your site? What keywords are they
using to arrive at your pages? Where are they coming from? Where do
they live? All of these questions and more can be answered simply by
taking a look at the stats.
2. Resolve to improve each customer’s online experience. Rarely
do online businesses not have an opportunity to make their visitors’
experiences more user friendly, more engaging, more valuable. There is
always room for improvement. By examining statistics along with
surveying your customers and simply asking them what they like and what
they don’t, you can gain valuable information about what needs to
change.
3. Boost conversion rate. Here’s another piece of
information you can glean from the statistics about your website: how
many visitors arrive on the pages and then immediately leave? Those are
bounces and you need to figure out why they are happening. The more
traffic to your site that is not properly qualified, the slimmer your
chances of converting them into paying customers. Target the right
people in the right ways and you are sure to see your conversion rate
soar.
4. Let the professionals take over tasks you don’t have the time or knowledge to do. Is
it cheaper to do all your internet marketing, social media posting and
website optimisation yourself? Sure it is…sometimes. It can actually
cost your business in terms of lost sales and damaged reputation,
however, if you inadvertently perform these tasks wrong – or don’t
perform them at all.
We hope your business can look forward to a very prosperous 2013. Let
us help you achieve all your goals by allowing us to give you a quote
